Cardiff City confirm the signature of Frederic Gounongbe from Belgian club KVX Westerlo.
The 28-year old forward is set to make an appearance in the coming season after his contract expired at De Kemphanen. He joined the club as a free agent after impressing Cardiff City with his 22 goals statistics in the Jupiler Pro League. He becomes the second signing for City after Lex immers joined recently.
Gounongbe said: “Coming to the UK and playing my football here is a big challenge and I’m excited about performing in front of the Bluebirds’ fans. Cardiff City head coach Paul Trollope is still on duty with the Welsh national team in France. Wales recently defeated Belgium 3-1 in a shocking and entertaining game at the quarterfinal stage of the Euro 2016 tournament.
The executive director of the club as well as the CEO Ken Choo added: “We delighted to be able to bring Frederic into the fold, who will add to our already accomplished squad.”
