Warnock not afraid of sacking

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has stated that he is not scared of being sacked by the club as he is sure of getting another job.

He believes that there is a shortage of good managers in the game at the moment and that will give him a lot of opportunities.

Warnock said that he has plenty of experience in the Championship and this should allow him to coach any other club. For this reason, he is not afraid of losing his job if ever the Cardiff City board decided to sack him.

Cardiff City is currently 13th in the Championship and are currently on a good run of form. Many pundits were tipping Cardiff City to make a serious push for promotion this season, but they were let down by a poor start to the season.

CARDIFF DEFENDER BAMBA CHARGED BY FA

Cardiff City defender Sol Bamba has been charged by the Football Association for his actions in the draw at Ipswich.

Bamba received a red card for his actions and he is poised to serve a two-game ban. However, the player could serve more match ban with the charge.

Jonathan Douglas roughly tackled Bamba, 31, during the game. The African reacted angrily, confronting the referee, fourth official and his manager Neil Warnock. Cardiff will ask for a personal hearing in light of the charge, Warnock claimed.

“We’re going to ask for a personal hearing. I think that’ll be done today,” Warnock said.

The club has until Friday evening to respond to the charge. Warnock admits that Samba behaved rashly but added that the club would contest some areas with the FA.

“We spoke to Sol yesterday and [Thursday] we looked at all the videos that the league have sent us and whilst we agree his conduct wasn’t right, we do have certain discrepancies in the report we find so we will be looking at a personal hearing for that,” the manager said.

Warnock added that the club would deal with the player internally later but was focused on dealing with the situation at hand. Warnock blamed the referee James Adcock for playing the advantage after Bamba was fouled.

Cardiff City is making a big clear-out of forwards

A few days ago it was announced that Kenwyne Jones had left Cardiff City as he joined Al-Jazira on a deal which lasts until the end of the current season but much more players of the English club are expected to be on their way out of the club after failing to impress.

Federico Machedaand Alex Revell are the players who are rumored to be offloaded from Cardiff City as they do not play a very important role in the team and the club is prepared to sell them in order to make way for new players.

Macheda is a product from the youth system of Manchester United and he joined Cardiff City on a free transfer back in May of 2014 but he has struggled making an impact in the team with injuries that have kept him in the sidelines unable to play with the rest of his teammates and even when he is fit, his goal-scoring ratio isn’t very impressive with a total of 8 goals in 28 appearances for Cardiff City and it’s believed that the club has lost their patience with the young attacker.

The goal-scoring output of Alex Revell has been even more disappointing as the 32 year old English attacker has only been able to find the back of the net on 2 occasions in 28 appearances which are even lower than his teammate FederichoMacheda.

Cardiff City managed a third win in the last five matches

Cardiff City managed a third win in the last five matches after a 2-0 success over Birmingham City during the weekend.

The victory helped Cardiff move to 14th in the table. It makes them no closer towards the play-off places, as Ipswich Town occupying the final play-off spot are still 16 points ahead of them with one less match remaining in the season. Despite this, manager Russell Slade was happy with the performance of his players after the match. Owen Doyle opened the scoring after 15 minutes while Peter Whittingham scored from the penalty spot after 76 minutes.

Assistant manager Scott Young also reflected on this victory by saying that it was pleasing to get a clean sheet. Cardiff have not enjoyed a great defensive record in the league this season. Their last clean sheet came almost a month ago in the 1-0 victory over Wigan. Comments to such a situation have been flying in from the fans, but Slade will be able to prepare with confidence for the next match against Reading. The relegation threatened outfit still have everything to play for in the remainder of the campaign unlike Cardiff, who may allow their concentration to drift. There are seven matches left in the season.
