WARNOCK SETS SIGHTS ON PLAYOFFS NEXT SEASON

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has said that reaching the Championship play-offs next term would be a big reach with their current budget.

They are currently 17 points off the playoff spot this year as they are 12th on the log.

The Bluebirds struggled when the season went underway but under Warnock’s leadership, they have steadily risen through the log. They played a goalless draw with Wigan Athletic recently but they have been consistent overall.

“We need a few more goals, we need a few more options off the bench. It’s going to be a massive achievement for everybody at the club if we can get up there near the playoffs next season with the budget we’ve got and the amount we’re going to spend,” he coach told the BBC.

Warnock not afraid of sacking

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has stated that he is not scared of being sacked by the club as he is sure of getting another job.

He believes that there is a shortage of good managers in the game at the moment and that will give him a lot of opportunities.

Warnock said that he has plenty of experience in the Championship and this should allow him to coach any other club. For this reason, he is not afraid of losing his job if ever the Cardiff City board decided to sack him.

Cardiff City is currently 13th in the Championship and are currently on a good run of form. Many pundits were tipping Cardiff City to make a serious push for promotion this season, but they were let down by a poor start to the season.

Bury does not fear anyone according to Boss

Bury’s manager, David Flitcroft has stated that they do not fear anyone despite their current poor run. Bury will be away to league leaders Burton during the weekend, and the manager feels that they have turned a corner.

Bury has only managed to collect 4 points away from home from a possible 39 points and will be facing in Burton, a team that has conceded only two defeat at home. Flitcroft does not want to let himself overwhelm with statistics and believe that his side is much better one despite what the table shows.

The manager has stated that he has a plan for the match against Burton, and he wants his players to follow it if they want to come back with a result. He will want a repeat of the performance against Blackpool where Bury managed to get out with a draw.

David Flitcroft will want his players to give everything in the final games of the season and would want them to stay focus on the game plan.

The manager believes that there are not a great deal that separates the teams at the top of the league from the rest. The only difference is that the top teams has a better finishing and score more goals.

For the game against Burton, Flitcroft will have Craig Jones and Kelvin Etuhu back in the team. Jones was on a good run of form before suffering from a concussion at Blackpool while Etuhu will be back after two months.

DO NOT EXPECT ATTACKING FOOTBALL

The Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay has said that the fans should not expect a wonderful attacking display from his side each week. Malky Mackay has said that he was extremely pleased to see his team play wonderful attacking football in the recent 3-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers. Malky Mackay had opted for the 4-4-2 formation in the match against Wolverhampton Wanderers and it paid rich dividends. His side was extremely good in attacking, but the manager has said that it will be the flexibility of switching between attack and defence that will help them win the championship this season.

Cardiff city have been extremely unlucky in the first to get back into the Premier league, as they have been defeated on a number of occasions in the play-offs. As a result, the manager has targeted the promotion via the automatic spots rather than the play-off spot this time around. Despite their repeated failure in their attempts to get promotion, Cardiff city still remain as one of the major sides favourite for promotion. Cardiff city have made a decent start to the season with two wins out of the four matches played. As result, they sit in the eighth position just two points behind the leaders Blackpool.

“Things might change in a minute. We will adapt to who we are facing and of course with which players I have available. Players are going to have to be flexible, but we are working on things and hopefully can get better and better. Last season there was a limit to what we could do, we could not change things around as much as I would have liked and some players played more games than ideally they should have,” said Mackay after the Wolverhampton Wanderers match. Cardiff will be playing against Leeds United this weekend.

FANS SHOULD ACCEPT CHANGES

Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan has said that fans should accept the changes that the club has made with respect to its colours. Cardiff city are well known as the club that holds blue coloured to the heart. However, they recently have confirmed that they will be playing in red colours from next season onwards. This move has infuriated the fans who have been following the club for many years. The Malaysian investor has said in the statement following his move that it is in the best interests of the club that the club has decided to move to red colour.

The Championship club are expected to be receiving around £ 100 million in new investment from the Malaysian investor. He has also revealed the details of the investment that will follow in the subsequent seasons, as Cardiff city look to get into the Premier league after a long gap. Vincent Tan has made investments in the club to the tune of £ 40 million in the last two seasons. However, he has revealed that he will now be increasing the investment to around £ 100 million shortly. This news, however, is unlikely to please the fans, who are extremely angry at this decision by the club to play in red.

“I would like to emphasise that I hold no desire to trample on club history or heritage and would be saddened if supporters thought that this was my intention. I believe that our club has great potential, but in order to realise that potential real world business and financial decisions need to be made at the appropriate and opportune time. As investors, we are duty bound to explore ways in which we feel the club can grow over the long term,” said Vincent Tan in a statement issued on the official site of the club.
