BOWYER ON CLOUD NINE

Blackburn manager Gary Bowyer was on cloud nine after his team manager a 2-0 win over promotion chasing QPR in order to keep their own hopes of finishing in the top six alive. Blackburn Rovers have been looking to get back to the Premier league ever since being relegated two years ago.

However, it looked as they would miss out on promotion yet again after remaining outside the top six with just a handful of matches remaining. They have, however, given themselves a great opportunity be getting a 2-0 win over QPR.

This was the second consecutive win for the club, while they have also not been defeated in the last five. Bowyer says that the club will now look to build on this success over the coming weeks, has the possibility of finishing in the top six still remains realistic. The club are just four points below Reading, who occupy the final play-off place. Even though there are several contenders between them and this position, Bowyer reckons that since Blackburn have the momentum, they can still qualify for the Premier league.

The same opinion was not reflected by opposition manager Harry Redknapp when he spoke to the belgie zuidkorea odds site – his QPR team are now fourth in the table. This defeat has ended any hopes of qualifying automatically for the Premier league.

“I think so, yes, for the full 90. We’ve had some impressive halves and spells in games but for a complete 90 minutes we were excellent and the players deserve all the credit. Everybody from start to finish, they were right at it and they were truly a credit to their football club tonight against a tough team. Looking at the games tonight and the results, you wouldn’t have been able to predict that,” said the Blackburn manager, whose team next week on Sheffield Wednesday away from home.
